On November 12–13, the Embassy of Hungary in Riga hosted the latest stage of the Hungarian Food Business Program of the Agricultural Marketing Centre. Fifteen Hungarian food industry companies presented themselves to a Latvian professional audience.
On November 3, our Embassy presented the first Hungarian edition of Lāčplēsis (Bear Slayer or Medveölő in Hungarian), considered the Latvian national epic and written between 1872 and 1877 by the patriotic poet Andrejs Pumpurs, at a private, intimate ceremony at the Latvian National Library in Riga, accompanied by a lecture by the translator János Pusztay, professor of Finno-Ugric linguistics.
On October 22, our Embassy commemorated the anniversary of the 1956 revolution and war of independence in the festive hall of the Riga Museum for History and Navigation.
Our Embassy was pleased to host the Fintech Breakfast: Latvia-Hungary Ecosystem Exchange today. Congratulations to Magyar Fintech Szövetség & Fintech Latvija asociācija for signing a bilateral Memorandum of Understanding on their cooperation. Six Hungarian companies were represented and made an introduction to representatives of the Latvian fintech sector.

Alongside the President of the Republic of Latvia and the Speaker of the Saeima, Hungarian Ambassador György Urkuti also congratulated historian Marģers Vestermanis, researcher of the fate of Hungarian Jewish women deported to Latvia in 1944, on his 100th birthday on September 18.
