“The Power of Symbols” by Hungarian artist János Brückner – Exhibition at the National Library of Latvia in Riga (4 October, 2016)

As part of the commemorative events in Latvia related to the 60th Anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and Freedom Fight, and upon the initiative of the Embassy of Hungary in Latvia, artist János Brückner made an installation entitled „The Power of Symbols”.

Programme series organized by the Embassy of Hungary in Riga to mark the 60th Anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution (4 October, 2016)

In Latvia we paid tribute to and commemorated the heroes of 1956 by organizing a conference, exhibition opening and movie screening at the National Library of Latvia, in Riga. The events took place on the 4th of October, 2016.

The exhibition “1956 - For Freedom and Independence” prepared by House of Terror Museum of Budapest was opened on the 4th of October, 2016 by the Ambassador of Hungary, Ms. Adrien Müller and by the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Saeima, Mr. Ojars Eriks Kalnins in the National Library of Latvia.
