On 27 January, at the Embassy of Hungary in Riga, Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkēvičs offered his personal deepest condolences to Ambassador Adrien Müller in relation to a bus crash in the north of Italy, when sixteen Hungarian citizens, including students, died and several were injured.
The Hungarian Government has declared a national day of mourning for January 23, Monday in memory of the victims who died in the coach accident in Italy. In the inapprehensible moments of grief, our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends affected by the tragedy.

Latvian National Television reported about the Hungarian Christmas exhibition opened by our Embassy in the Art Nouveau Museum of Riga.

Wonderful Hungarian Christmas exhibition was opened by Ambassador of Hungary to Latvia H.E. Mrs. Adrien Müller in the Art Nouveau Museum of Riga on 8 December 2016. The exhibition can be visited until 15 January 2017.
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán participated at the Summit of the Central-Eastern European countries and China (16+1) in Riga on 4th November 2016. Upon the decision of the Heads of States and Governments of the 16+1 and according to the Riga Declaration Hungary is going to host the next Summit in 2017.
The Embassy of Hungary hosted a concert and a reception in remembrance of the 60th Anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and Freedom Fight in the greatest concert hall of Riga, in the Great Guild Hall. Hungarian pianist Balázs Fülei was performing at the commemorative event.
