We would like to help you with information on the Hungarian-Latvian relations: political relations, economic cooperation, the presence of Hungarian culture in Latvia, the activities of our diplomatic mission in shaping relations between Hungarians and Latvians and the work and availability of our consular services. Our goal is to help you navigate through the system of Hungarian-Latvian relations and to contribute to the development of these relations with our own limited resources.
Hungary and Latvia are allies and this creates the framework for our relations. We are both members of NATO, the EU, and other international organizations, which provide opportunities for continuous cooperation in a wide range of areas. Our geographical location is strikingly the same: Hungary and Latvia are both part of the strip between the Germanic and the Slavic-speaking peoples in Europe. As a result, both our history and our mindset, ways of thinking are similar, which is why we understand each other well and easy. Continuous dialogue and detailed understanding of each other's positions are natural in these circumstances. In addition, bilateral meetings are also frequent in a wide variety of areas.
The single internal market of the EU provides Hungarian companies with every opportunity to seek new markets or invest in Latvia. Hungary also offers excellent opportunities for Latvian businesspeople and tourists. Cultural cooperation is also a great opportunity to learn more about each other and get to know each other better.
