The basis of the Hungarian-Latvian relations is set by our alliance in the European Union, NATO and other international organisations. Our joint interest, values and membership in these organisations ensure good basis and many platforms for excellent cooperation. Bilateral visits and consultations on political and technical level between our Governments and Parliaments are regular. The history of our countries crossed (coincided) several times in the past, therefore – I believe –we easily understand each other. At the same time constant dialogue, openness for each other’s detailed positions and their reasoning are needed to have well-founded analysis in the rapidly changing world. The European single market ensures clear framework for Hungarian businesses in finding new trade and investment opportunities in Latvia. Our Embassy is ready and willing to assist their intentions. Meanwhile our aim is to attract investors form Latvia to Hungary which offers excellent conditions for investments. We hope the number of Latvians tourists visiting our wonderful country will continue to grow also in the coming years. Cultural cooperation is an excellent opportunity to better know each other.
