On 23 January 2018, Ambassador Ferenc Bányai presented his letter of credence to Raimonds Vējonis, the President of the Republic of Latvia. During the meeting, the parties agreed that the bilateral relations developing well and expressed their belief in the necessity of more extensive economic relations. Raimonds Vējonis, the President of the Republic of Latvia highly valued the contribution of Hungary to the security of the Baltic States. The Ambassador confirmed the intention of Hungary for further input. Ferenc Bányai gave an overview of Hungarian programs related to the Centennial Year of Latvia.
